Ingredients

Parboiled rice 150 g 1 K
Black gram dal 50 g 1/3 K
Salt to taste

Method

Soak dal and rice separately for 5-6 hours. Grind rice (coarse) and dal (very smooth and fine), mix both, add salt and thoroughly mix again.Keep mixture overnight for fermentation. Next day steam small portions (9) of the mixture in idli mould till set and cooked.
