Jabalpur has been selected as one of the hundred Indian cities to be developed as a smart city under Smart Cities Mission. Jabalpur is a city situated on the banks of the Narmada River in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. Jabalpur is an important administrative, industrial, and business center of Madhya Pradesh. Jabalpur is one of the top hygiene-rated cities in Madhya Pradesh. In the city 51 shops were certified in hygiene rating.It is also an extensive hub of pea farming from here major portion of the production is exported to countries like Singapore, Japan, Nepal, Bhutan, and Bangladesh. During the Eat Smart City Challenge, the MASCOT Design for Eat Smart Jabalpur city, Fit Badd an icon for fitness in the city. It becomes an eye-catching character for everyone. The COMIC stories in form of videos teach people about healthy eating habits. Jabalpur registered 6207 street food vendors and celebrated Fit Badda during the program. A Junk Food Hunk Food motivational drive had been run to help people know about healthy food habits. The swacchta Vehicle was also engaged to collect Plastic Waste from door-door garbage collection in which reused cooking oil(RUCO) from houses and restaurants to be converted for biodiesel.
